News about the world, from major breaking events to smaller stories with global impact.
The term world news or international news is the newspaper jargon for news from abroad, about a country or a global subject. It is often reported by a national or regional news agency. A news agency prepares hard news and feature articles that can be used by other news organizations with little or no modification, and then delivers them in bulk electronically through a wire service (originally by telegraphy; today, frequently via the Internet). Individuals, corporations, analysts and intelligence agencies may also subscribe to a news agency’s services.
