Lottery jackpot

Powerball is the largest lottery jackpot in the United States. The winner of the prize has yet to claim it. The winning ticket was purchased in California.

This year’s Powerball drawing is set to take place on January 2023. It has an estimated jackpot of $1.6 billion.

Tickets are sold in 45 states. There is also a chance to win the annuity option, which pays the jackpot over 29 years.

Tickets can also be bought in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. If you live in the United States, you may want to check your state’s lottery rules to see what the odds of winning are.

To win the Powerball jackpot, you must match all five white balls and one red ball. Your chances of winning are 1 in 292 million. However, your odds increase if you opt to purchase a Megaplier. With the Megaplier, your chances of winning the jackpot increase to 1 in 302 million.

If you do win the jackpot, you will receive an annuity for the next 30 years. A portion of the jackpot goes to the IRS, which requires a minimum withholding of 24% of the total wager. In addition, you will have to pay taxes on your winnings.

The Mega Millions is the second biggest jackpot in the U.S. and draws on Tuesday and Friday nights at 11pm. You can choose five or six numbers, or you can buy a “Quick Pick” ticket that automatically picks the numbers for you.
